International finance

The aim of the course is to present the mechanisms of financial system functioning in the world as well as the essence and elements of the balance of payments. In addition, students acquire knowledge about the functioning of international and domestic financial institutions.

Features of the global economy, globalization and integration, ""slowbalization"" and disintegration. International finance as part of international economics. Financial actors and transactions on the international market. International capital flows with particular emphasis on foreign direct investment - method of calculation, importance of FDI in the economy.

Balance of payments of a country - characteristics and structure analysis. Data interpretation in dynamic and static terms.

Currency exchange rate and its role. Foreign currency integration. International financial system - institutions, functioning.

Structure and role of international financial markets. Financial crisis 2007-2010. Income welfare and growth in the world economy. Developing countries as lender and borrower.
