The student understand the importance of supply chain management in the successful corporate strategy implementation and improvement as well as its role for achieving corporate competitive advantage and value.

The student knows key megatrends and trends in the 21st century business environment and understands their influence on supply chain management.

The student is familiarised with key emerging supply chain strategies, concepts and practices as well as main innovations and their role in the success of future supply chains.

Umiejętności:

The student is able to specify the most important challenges to supply chain management and analyse their potential influence in a scenario approach.

The student is capable of choosing appropriate strategies, concepts and practices of supply chain management in the face of megatrends and trends in the business environment.

The student is able to use qualitative and quantitative methods in projects of supply chain configuration or reconfiguration.

Kompetencje społeczne:

The student learns to assume leadership responsibility and accountability for the ethical and cultural frameworks in which leadership is exerted.

The student has capabilities of working in an international team and accepting the co-responsibility for the results of group work.

The course is oriented towards investigation of future SC strategies and practices for achieving corporate competitive advantage and value in the next decade of the 21st century. Building the bridge between the exploitation of lessons learned from the past SC disruptions and the exploration of new concepts and innovations, the course offers a unique chance to gain the knowledge essential to manage SCs in the volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous (VUCA) business environment. It educates the skills of managerial ambidexterity required from leaders searching of SCM excellence. The course addresses SCM as a key field of managerial responsibility.

The general purpose of this course is to study knowledge and gain skills as well as social competences necessary to reinvent supply chains (SCs) for the future to achieve competitive advantage and create corporate value in a perpetually disrupted business environment. The course is the most up-to-date journey possible through the future supply chain management (SCM) strategies and practices based on the top expert predictions and business case studies. It aims at providing an overview of SCM concepts gaining the importance in the face of a plethora of challenges, including disruptions caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, geopolitical conflicts, climate crisis, material shortages, rising stakeholder expectations around ESG concerns or digital transformation and cybersecurity.
