Wiedza: Students know vocabulary, terminology and definitions regarding the topics covered during semester. Students have language skills enabling to communicate in a general language and a basic specialist language. Students know basic and more complex grammatical structures. Umiejętności: Students use vocabulary, terminology and definitions regarding the topics covered during semester. Student use language skills enabling to communicate in a general language and a basic specialist language. The student knows how to use basic and more complex grammatical structures. Kompetencje społeczne: Students can name problems and ask questions as well as interpret social reality and economic processes. Students identify intercultural differences and recognises their significance for social relations. |

Introduction to Polish language and Culture |

| Pełny opis: |
Overcoming communication barriers; independence in dealing with various situations which occur in everyday life; learn vocabulary necessary to work or study in Poland. Information about Polish Culture will help students to adapt in Poland quickly. The main aim of the course is teaching communication skills; students should be able to survive in everyday situations as early as possible. Grammar is introduced only to organise knowledge of the language and use of word endings. The participants of the course gradually learn more and more complicated structures and are able to express wishes and ask questions, describe things and people, ask the way, do shopping, buy a ticket, order a taxi etc. Students are taught four disciplines: speaking, listening, reading and writing. |

Evaluation criteria Traditional Written Exam: 0.00% Multiple Choice Test (listening task, filling the gaps, grammar, vocabulary): 100.00% Oral Exam: 0.00% Test: 0.00% Papers/Essays: 0.00% Other: 0.00% The threshold percentage of absences (excluding lectures) defined as the proportion of class hours beyond which the achievement of learning outcomes is deemed unattainable: 20% Detailed passing conditions: A student must meet all four of the following conditions to receive a passing grade in the language course, confirming the achievement of learning outcomes: 1. Obtain a minimum of 60 %from written control tests, 2. Obtain a minimum of 60 % in total, 3. Obtain at least 60 % of the points awarded for spoken language, 4. Attend at least 80% classes during the semester Detailed rules for passing the semester are included in the document Rules for Assessing Language Courses. |
