Wiedza: Student knows the main legal framework of RTAs within World Trade Organization (WTO); Student has knowledge on the reasons, channels of impact and effects of RTAs on national economies, third countries and the world economy. Student has knowledge on the effects of RTAs on national economies, third countries and the world economy. Umiejętności: Student is able to analyze potential for RTAs development in different regions of the world (on different continents). Student is able to propose strategies to increase benefits of cooperation in the framework of RTAs; Student is able to propose strategies to deepen cooperation in the framework of RTAs. Kompetencje społeczne: Student is able to present a critical approach towards analyzed concepts and solutions and to develop their own ones; Student is able to understand and apply basic ethical rules. |

Types of regional trade agreements (RTAs). Principles of their formation. Main provisions for trade in goods and services as well as investment. Trends and reasons for the development of RTAs. Effects on parties to RTAs' and on external partners. Comparative analysis of RTAs (EU vs. European Economic Area, integration agreements in North and South America, in Africa and Eurasia, ASEAN). RTAs: a barrier or a factor of closer cooperation? Mechanisms of functioning of the EU as the main trading bloc (movement of goods, services, workers, capital, relations with third countries). |

The first objective of the course is to explain the reasons of increasing importance of regional integration (trade) agreements, mechanisms of their mechanisms of operations and, effects on member states and on the third countries. The second objective is to discuss the essence, intensity of relations, effects and prospects of development of economic relations in the European Union as the biggest and major world trading block. Achieving these objectives will serve to summarise the course and discuss whether regional trade agreements are an incentive or a barrier to worldwide cooperation. |

Evaluation criteria Traditional Written Exam (18 pytań testowych obejmujących problematykę kursu (10 modułów)): 40.00% Other (zadania i udział w dyskusji w trakcie semestru (zgodnie z harmonogramem)): 60.00% Detailed passing conditions: Na ocenę końcową składają się punkty zdobyte za: a) pracę w ciągu całego semestru na platformie e-sgh, w tym: - 10 wypowiedzi na forum x 2 pkt max = 20 pkt max - rozwiązanie 5 zadań x 2 pkt max = 10 pkt max b) egzamin (w formie stacjonarnej): 18 pytań testowych x 1 pkt = 18 pkt max Do uzyskania jest maksymalnie 48 pkt. (30 pkt. z pracy na platformie i 18 pkt z egzaminu). A zatem student może być zwolniony z egzaminu w przypadku uzyskania (prawie) maksymalnej liczby punktów z pracy na platformie (25-29 pkt.). Otrzyma wtedy ocenę 3. Alternatywne sposoby zaliczenia przedmiotu dla studentów, którzy w usprawiedliwiony sposób nie mogli uczestniczyć w zajęciach: przygotowanie krytycznej analizy wypowiedzi innych studentów na forum, w oparciu o materiały zamieszczone w danym module (dla każdego z opuszczonych modułów). |
