Efekty uczenia się: |
Wiedza: 1. To understand the concept and determinants of competitiveness of nations, sub-national units and particular clusters. 2. To get familiar with strategic tools and operating practices that are starting points for shifting productivity of companies, clusters and regions. 3. To explore the determinants of competitiveness building from the perspective of firms, clusters and nations. 4. To broaden knowledge about the role of clusters in building competitive advantages of nations. Umiejętności: 1. Ability to use the knowledge about strategic tools for team projects involving the competitive assessment of a particular country and a cluster within that country. 2. Ability to use Porter's Diamond model to analyze the determinants of competitive advantages of a nation, a region and a cluster. 3. Ability to link theoretical concepts from the course with the real problems and situations presented in the cases solved during classes. 4. Ability to deal with a large number of data and high complexity while solving cases. Analyzing facts coming from many different fields and driving conclusions. Kompetencje społeczne: 1. Teamworking during team project preparation. 2. Development of active participation in the teaching process by discussing cases during class. |

The course enables to support economic development and competitiveness in its country and regions. The course is taught using the case studies method. |

This course explores the determinants of national and regional competitiveness from the perspective of firms, clusters, subnational units, nations, and groups of neighboring countries. It focuses on the sources of national or regional productivity, which are rooted in the strategies and operating practices of locally based firms, the vitality of clusters, and the quality of the business environment in which competition takes place. |
