Wiedza: Knows concepts related to descriptive statistics and statistical inference in business management. Knows basic concepts related to econometric modelling in business management. Knows basic concepts related to linear programming in business management. Knows basic concepts related to decision making proces in business management. Umiejętności: The use of more advanced formulas and tools in Excel (e.g. Solver, Analysis Toolpack), Gretl as well as the fundamentals of R/Python software. Problem solving skills in business decision-making. Critical thinking in business decision-making. The use of statistical, econometrical, linear programming and decision-making techniques in business-management. Kompetencje społeczne: Ability to work in a team. Leadership skills. |

The course Quantitative Methods in Management provides a simple introduction to basic and intermediate mathematical and statistical techniques needed in business management. It focuses on applying quantitative techniques to real-world applications. Whereas theoretical basis is essential to understand the concepts and methods used, it is limited to the necessary minimum and the emphasis is given to case studies. |

The main objective of this course is to provide students with adequate knowledge of a quantitative nature, including relevant techniques and tools, for solving managerial decision problems. This objective is accomplished not only through laying necessary theoretical base, but mainly through an extensive use of practical scenarios in the learning process. |
