Wiedza: Student has knowledge on present economic and political situation in CEE countries. Student has knowledge on cultural and historical background in CEE region Student knows dominant forms and modes of internationalization process in Central and Eastern Europe. Umiejętności: Student can assess the economic performance in separate CEE countries. Student understand cultural differences between separate nations and societies. Student understand main goals, costs and profits related to separate forms of international entry mode. Kompetencje społeczne: Student is able politely hold a discussion on cultural differences. The student is capable of identifying, diagnosing and solving the cross-cultural problems in CEE. |

"Contemporary Issue in Central and Eastern Europe" is a sub-discipline of International Business. It presents economic, political and social situation in CEE region, the main idea and background of reforms introduced in early 90., describes changes from central planned economy to free market, presents pros and cons of those reforms, changes in economy during last decades, changes in social life and terms of doing business in CEE region. There are discussed: meanings and reasons of internationalization in CEE region, patterns and forms (export and import, FDI inflow and outflow, mergers and acquisitions), and concepts of internationalization in CEE countries; the main factors shaping the internationalization process like: political and legal system, culture, and educational system. |
