The concept of international competitiveness, fourth industrial revolution, economy 4.0, Industry 4.0 technologies, digital competitiveness, indicators and methods to measure different dimensions of competitiveness, analysis of competitive ability of economy and its competitive position.

Pełny opis:

The aim of the course is to present the theory and methodology of international comparative studies concerning the concept of international competitiveness in the context of the fourth industrial revolution and the transition to an economy 4.0. Different dimensions of competitiveness, especially digital competitiveness, will be discussed. Students will gain knowledge about indicators and methods used to measure different dimensions of competitiveness, as well as the use of available sources of statistical data and reports assesing international competitiveness of economies. Students will acquire the ability to analyse the competitive ability and competitive position of the economy. The classes will discuss the importance of various determinants of international competitiveness, in particular factors related to the economy 4.0.

Wiedza:

The student knows various concepts, techniques and models used to analyse factors and levels of international competitiveness.

The student has knowledge of various methods of measuring the various dimensions of international competitiveness, the measures and the reports evaluating the competitiveness of different countries.

The student knows the concept of the fourth industrial revolution and has a knowledge of the Industry 4.0 technologies.

Umiejętności:

The student is able to find and analyze relevant statistical data and official reports concerning the assessment of international competitiveness, especially digital competitiveness.

The student is able to select and use appropriate indicators to measure competitiveness.

The student is able to assess the importance of implementing solutions of the fourth industrial revolution and Industry 4.0 for shaping the competitiveness of the economy, with particular emphasis on digital competitiveness.

The student is able to consciously build social relations (networking) and knows the importance of leadership in the entrepreneurial process.

Kompetencje społeczne:

The student understands the importance of human resources in the realization of the fourth industrial revolution.

The student understands the ethical issues related to the implementation of economy 4.0 solutions.

The student is able to demonstrate different effectiveness of economic policy instruments stimulating entrepreneurship and select the proper ones, depending on the level of economic development and cultural conditions.

The student is creative and entrepreneurial in creating and implementing business projects of national and international character.
