Efekty uczenia się: |
Wiedza: Student will acquire knowledge about theoretical approaches to poverty, underdevelopment and development. Student will have knowledge about the development diversity in the contemporary global economy as well as the main determinants of poverty in Less-Developed Countries and Big Emerging Economies. Student will have deeper knowledge about global chances and opportunities of reducing poverty in LDCs and BEEs. Umiejętności: Student will be able to apply theoretical and empirical knowledge to analyzing main economic problems of Less-Developed Countries and Big Emerging Economies. Student will be able to identify the main reasons for differences in the development of Less-Developed Countries (in Africa, Asia, Latin America). Student will be able to determine main directions and methods of providing international aid to LDCs as well as the factors deciding on its effectiveness. Kompetencje społeczne: Student will acquire the ability to participate in discussions on the problems related to poverty and backwardness in Less-Developed Countries as well as economic development in general. Student will develop openness towards and interest in the process of development diversity in the contemporary global economy and existence of areas of poverty and underdevelopment. |

In the context of sources of poverty, the role and significance of different factors and barriers of underdevelopment in the Southern countries, i.e. human capital, investment, technology, institutions, and foreign trade will be elaborated on. |
