Global Poverty, Underdevelopment and Development

During the course theoretical and practical aspects of poverty and underdevelopment in the contemporary global economy will be discussed, with a focus on Less-Developed Countries (LDCs) and Big Emerging Economies (BEEs). In the context of sources of poverty, the role and significance of different factors and barriers of underdevelopment in the Southern countries, i.e. human capital, investment, technology, institutions, and foreign trade will be elaborated on.

Presentation of the theoretical and practical aspects related to economic development, poverty and underdevelopment in the contemporary world economy. Exploring socio-economic situation and development challenges of developing countries and emerging economies. Demonstration of the role of different factors and barriers of development in the context of Less-Developed Countries (LDCs) and Big Emerging Economies (BEEs), with focus on human resources, investment, innovation, technology, foreign trade, Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and institutions.
