Efekty uczenia się: |
Wiedza: Students should understand major determinants of optimal decision-making. Students ought to be able to explain the basic steps in decision-making process. Students should know the rationales behind the choice of particular decision tools and methods in changing conditions and in particular under uncertainty. Students should understand and be able to distinguish different market structures, and ought to know the principles of profit maximization in a firm. Umiejętności: The course in Managerial Economics helps to acquire, among other things, the skills of logical thinking, analysis and synthesis, to be applied by students through choosing proper arguments, The course guides the students how to make optimal decisions, as a means of upgrading their managerial skills and forming the sense of responsibility for their decisions, The course helps to acquire the skill of selecting appropriate tools and decision methods in different circumstances; in particular this refers to decision making under uncertainty, The course develops students' ability of working in groups, which enables identification of personal traits both own and of members of the team, and helps in working out team goals. The course enhancces students' need of learning and updating their knowledge, which makes them interested in new topics and strengthens their habits of lifelong learning. Kompetencje społeczne: The course in Managerial Economics prepares students to grasp opportunities to implement innovative solutions. The course prepares students to apply multidimensional and complex perception of managerial and decision making problems, The course equips students with a competence of behaving in a constructive way in new situations, which bring about new and unpredicted problems or challenges. |

The course has been designed with an overriding goal to equip students with a set of tools and basic economics principals, which enable an in-depth understanding of the determinants of the decision process and provide a basis for making optimal managerial decisions in different economic and institutional environments. The main emphasis has been placed upon practical implications of these principals, i.e. ways they can be incorporated into and improve the decision-making process of managers of today and tomorrow. |
