Efekty uczenia się: |
Wiedza: 1. Student acquires knowledge of complex processes and phenomena occurring in institutional systems (also in law systems) and its impact on economy, 2. Student understands the main achievements of the modern institutional economics and the teaching of its outstanding representatives. 3. Student is able to analyse institutional systems. 4. Student is aware of causes of either economic backwardness or development in terms of institutional economics. Umiejętności: 1. Student acquires abilities to analyse structures of the law and the use of economic theories. 2. Student is able to conduct a comparative analysis of various institutional systems. 3. Student is able to determine the importance of institutional factors in a long-term economic growth. 4. Student is able to analyse causes of differences in a level of economic growth in post-socialist countries. Kompetencje społeczne: 1. Student participates in discussions on problems related to institutional changes based on acquired knowledge. 2. Student is able to be an active member of the team. |

1. Introducing the basic concepts and techniques related to institutional analysis. 2. Helping the students in their understanding of the role of institutional environment in economic theory and in the business practice. 3. Showing how institutions matter for economic growth. The course provides an overview of recent developments in the field of economic theories that focus on the significance of institutions for the economy. It presents how institutions determine the efficiency of resource allocation and the welfare of the society. The course introduces the concepts and techniques necessary for analysing the institutional structure of the economy and its influence on incentives, as well as on individuals and organisations. |
