Wiedza: 1. Understand main macroeconomic phenomena. 2. Understand modern research methods at advanced level. 3. Understand modern macroeconomic tools. Understand which macroeconomic tools to apply for an economic problem at hand. 4. Conduct rigorous macroeconomic analysis based on solid theoretical and empirical foundations. 5. Understand for which problems using standard frictionless reperesentative agent model is good enough and for which problems it is not. Umiejętności: 1. Apply macroeconomic knowledge at the advanced level. 2. Select and apply macroeconomic tools for analysis of macroeconomic problems. Form and express opinions on economic issues based on empirical observations and theoretical implications of modern macroeconomics. Kompetencje społeczne: 1. Contribute to the discussion on modern microeconomic issues. 2. Student understands advantages of using formal macroeconomic analysis. |

This course builds on Advanced Macroeconomics course and deepens understanding of macroeconomic phenomena and macroeconomics policy. In this course students should learn how departing from a standard frictinless representative agent models towards models with heterogeneous agents, financial frictions, open economy and asymmetric information enriches our understanding of the macroeconomy. Additionally, students would learn new techniques of solving macroeconomic models. It aims at teaching students economic issues and economic models on the advanced level. Expanding skills in approaching macroeconomic problems with macroeconomic tools. It challenges many economic issues developed by standard models with frictionless representative agent economy. |
