Wiedza: The student knows the main macroeconomic regularities (stylized facts) in the short, medium, and long term. The student knows and understands modern research methods in macroeconomics at an advanced level. The student knows and understands the latest international literature in the field of contemporary macroeconomics. Umiejętności: The student is able to apply appropriate modeling tools and analytical methods to describe and present key macroeconomic problems. The student is able to apply acquired knowledge to interpret observed macroeconomic processes and regularities. The student is able to analyze and discuss various motivations behind macroeconomic policy. Kompetencje społeczne: The student is ready to actively and substantively participate in discussions on macroeconomic issues. The student is able to communicate and explain complex macroeconomic interdependencies in a way that is understandable to various audiences. The student understands the need to continuously update knowledge in the face of changing economic conditions. |

This course builds on Advanced Macroeconomics course and deepens understanding of macroeconomic phenomena and macroeconomics policy. In this course students should learn how departing from a standard frictinless representative agent models towards models with heterogeneous agents, financial frictions, open economy and asymmetric information enriches our understanding of the macroeconomy. Additionally, students would learn new techniques of solving macroeconomic models. It aims at teaching students economic issues and economic models on the advanced level. Expanding skills in approaching macroeconomic problems with macroeconomic tools. It challenges many economic issues developed by standard models with frictionless representative agent economy. |
