Characteristics and development of the services sector. The importance of services in the economy. International trade in services. Methods of measurement of trade in services. Liberalization of trade in services. Foreign direct investment and offshoring in the services sector. Sustainability of tourism services. |

Pełny opis: |
The aim of the course is to discuss the causes and consequences of the growing role of services in the global economy, the EU and Poland. Students will learn about different methods of measuring international trade in services. Global and EU trends in international trade in services, offshoring and multilateral trade liberalisation will be presented. Students will learn about the specifics of service development in selected developing states and propose methods for more sustainable tourism development in a selected country. Students will carry out team projects that will be presented to a wider audience (exhibition of selected works, e.g. posters at SGH or online). |
