Wiedza: The student knows how to characterize the terms 'innovation policy', 'innovation system', 'technology foresight', knows how to measure these phenomena and understands interrelationships between them. The student knows the measurement methods and indicators used to evaluate the effectiveness of the innovation policy. The student knows the characteristics of the innovation policy of the EU, USA and selected Asian countries. The student knows the demand and supply tools of the innovation policy and understands their economic effects. Umiejętności: The student is able to analyze the data describing the innovativeness of economies. The student is able to analyze the effectiveness of innovation policy tools. The student is able to develop a country / region's innovation strategy in an international context Kompetencje społeczne: The student understands the relationship between the innovation policy and the level of innovativeness of economies taking into account the importance of cultural factors. The student is able to integrate the knowledge and skills and develop in collaboration together with the group a country's innovation strategy. |

Familiarizing students with the concept of innovation policy, its goals and tools. Theoretical concepts are illustrated with examples of the best (and worst) practices from European Union countries and world leaders in innovation (USA, South Korea) and emerging economies (China, India). Developing the ability to assess the effectiveness of innovation policy tools, and formulate innovation strategies at the supranational, national, regional and local levels. |
