To acquaint students with the use of IT as a tool for creating competitive advantage. Presentation of key issues and challenges of IT in business strategy. Explanation of the technological and economic bases of this phenomenon. Awareness of the opportunities and risks associated with the strategic use of IT. Discussion of the strategic importance of IT. The role of information, knowledge and information technology (IT) in today's economy. Increasing complexity of business environment and the growing competitive struggle. The strategic importance of IT. The need to formulate a strategy that uses IT. IT as a tool to enhance competitive advantage. IT - opportunities and threats. Redefining industry boundaries. Destruction of existing business models. Strategic IT technologies. The use of IT as a tool of competition. Discussion of the strategic importance of IT. |
