Wiedza: Explain and describe principles of TQM, 5S, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing and JIT. Explain principles of TQM functioning in the company. Assess the usefulness of methods and tools of TQM. Compare TQM concept with Six Sigma. Explain Lean Six Sigma concept. Describe team work principles and functioning of quality circles. Umiejętności: Use the quality management tools and techniques. Indicate the sources of waste and losses at the company. Propose activities aimed at TQM implementation in the company. Kompetencje społeczne: Sensitive to negative effects for the company resulting from waste and bad organized activities. Able to understand the necessity of continual improvement in the company. Able to understand need of team work in the company. |

The content of the subject is oriented towards TQM concept and its implementation in the company. The key concepts like Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, JIT are presented, which support TQM orientation towards processes and practices used in this area. Methods and tools are described aimed at diagnosis of problems and supporting decisive processes. Organizing of team work, management activities and personnel attitude were mentioned. TQM was compared with Six Sigma. |

The purpose of the lecture is the presentation of TQM principles, which should assist organizing company or modifying its activities. The idea was to indicate how TQM can be used in practice of the functioning of the modern company together with the implementation of the quality management principles, methods and tools. |
