Efekty uczenia się: |
Wiedza: 1. Student understands costs and benefits to the firm of splitting the production. 2. Student knows how to create and sustain international competitiveness of MNEs and understands their methods of competing in order to face challanges related to digitalization and sustainability. 3. Student understands motivations of MNEs to invest abroad and knows how to define foreign direct investments (FDI). 4. Student understands complexity, specific features and evolution of MNEs' value chains, organizational structures and strategies. 5. Student knows how MNEs activity impacts home and host economies. Umiejętności: 1.Student is able to identify sources of MNEs competitive advantages. 2. Student is able to measure multinational activity of firms. 3. Student is able to analyze market position of a multinational firm and define appropriate strategy to expand abroad. 4. Student is able to formulate policies to attract FDI and benefit from it. Kompetencje społeczne: 1. Student will become a high-skilled staff of a given large multinational enterprise, knows how to work in team. 2. Student will become a creative, open-minded manager, able to work in dynamic international environment. |

The course assesses the determinants of multinationals' actions, covering also selected aspects of organization and management of multinational firms, ther strategies and how they address new challanges such as digital transformation and sustainability. The global value chains will be presented and explained. The course shows why the activity of multinational enterprises (MNEs) has expanded so rapidly and explains why some countries have seen more such activities than others. Effects of FDI and MNEs on will be analyzed and presented. |

The course objective is to analyze the activity of multinational firms (multinational enterprises - MNEs) in the modern world, including the discussion of the costs and benefits to the firm of splitting the production, as well as consequences of MNEs for home and host economies. |
