Wiedza: Knowledge of what types of analyses can be supported by quantitative methods. Knowledge of what types of problems can be solved with the use of linear optimization. Understanding the need for stochastic analysis. Umiejętności: Ability to formulate and solve linear programming problems, and to interpret their solutions. Ability to apply quantitative methods in project management. Ability to estimate an econometric model, interpret it, and use it in forecasting. Kompetencje społeczne: Ability to consciously reach for quantitative methods in economics and management. Understanding the need for a continuous enhancement in the area of quantitative methods in economics and management. |

Classes are in the form of lectures and computer laboratories. This course is application-oriented, therefore emphasis is on dealing with problems that are close to real world problems. This includes modeling, solving, interpreting, and reporting the outcome. For this purpose modern quantitative methods in management are discussed and used. Prerequisites for this course are: mathematics at the level of 1st year, and statistics. |

Provide students with basic knowledge on modern operations research, particularly in the context of business management. Develop a habit of analytical approaching decision problems, and develop competence in identifying features essential for selecting appropriate model or technique. |
