Wiedza: Principles of modeling, and the main features of typical linear programing problems. Principles of representing selected nonlinear optimization problems as linear programs. Diversity of applications of optimization models in management and economics Umiejętności: A critical approach to real-world decision problems in the context of formulating a suitable mathematical model. Use of a computer software (Excel, or Gnumeric, or QSB, or Storm) to solve optimization problems. Competence in interpreting computer reports in the context of the underlying decision problem, and in conducting sensitivity analysis. Kompetencje społeczne: Student develops skills oriented towards an optimal use of resources. Student develops a modeling approach allowing to encompass complex decision problems. |
