Skrócony opis: |
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with knowledge of state institutions and its political and constitutional system and its practical significance for society. The relationship between state development and social and economic development will be demonstrated. The structures and functioning of model political systems of modern states and their role in the process of creating an active civil society will be analysed. Attention will also be paid to shaping the activity of citizens as a condition for the development of democracy. |

To acquaint students with the problems of the functioning of the political system of the modern state. During the course, issues related to: state power, forms of the state, constitution and system principles, electoral law, political leadership, political culture, civil society and its organization, social dialogue, its political system and subsystems, parties and party systems, and selected political systems of modern states. In order to familiarize students with the subject matter, case studies will be used. |

Efekty uczenia się: |
Wiedza: The doctoral student learned about selected detailed issues concerning the competences of the supreme state authorities, among others in order to verify the adopted ways of perceiving the political reality.; The doctoral student has knowledge covering not only the broadly understood theoretical foundations of the political and socio-economic system of the modern state.; The doctoral student has knowledge on the functioning and relations between the organs of state authority and the main entities of the constitutional and political system of the state. Umiejętności: The doctoral student is able to communicate on specialist topics, including explaining the essence, structure and functioning of the constitutional and political system of the state. They can take part in a discussion and initiate it.; The doctoral student is able to analyze the causes and course of specific political and legal processes and social phenomena, also using knowledge from various fields of science.; The doctoral student is able to present the systemic position and competences of state authorities, their mutual relations, principles and procedures of their functioning, as well as to critically assess the practice of their operation. Kompetencje społeczne: The doctoral student notices and appreciates the importance of civic activity in the functioning of public institutions.; The doctoral student can use different approaches to the actual effects of the activities of the supreme authorities in modern states.; The doctoral student demonstrates the ability to formulate their own conclusions in discussions on political and constitutional issues, and is also able to make a critical assessment of the scientific achievements covering the aforementioned topics. |
