Corporate Financial Analysis ( FAP)

Corporate Financial Analysis refers to an assessment of the viability, stability, and profitability of a business or project. It is performed by using ratios and other techniques, that make use of information taken from financial statements and other reports. These reports are usually presented to top management as one of their bases in making business decisions.

The lecture is focused on financial statement analysis and interpretation of financial disclosures to help develope risk assessment, forecasting, and decision making. The emphasis is on extension of students knowledge concerning the theory and a practice of Corporate Financial Analysis. This lecture covers current practices in corporate financial reporting and fundamental issues relating to asset valuation and income determination.

1. understand an essence of information describing financial position of a corporation,

2. know the capital budgeting techniques

3. the Idea of cost of capital

Umiejętności:

The student should:

1. correctly calculate time value of money at fixed and variable discounting rate

2. understand and interpret all types of ratios related to the company's financial position and profitability;

3. use accounting terminology and understand to some extent accounting regulation

he student should:

1. understand corporate financcial analysis is the area where one should constantly be open to new ideas, new ways of problem solving etc.

2. understand the economic context of the financial reporting and the interplay between different interested parties in this process
