Efekty uczenia się: |
Wiedza: Students will learn the complexity of family businesses, in particular its three pillars: (1) family, (2) ownership, (3) firm. Students will learn the financial aspects of family businesses, including the stock exchange. Students will learn how to analyze and compose a family governance. Umiejętności: Students will acquire the skill to evaluate the dynamics of family businesses. Students will acquire the ability to compose a vision of the family and how to implement it. Students will learn how to value family businesses and its assets. Kompetencje społeczne: Students will be working on teams as if they were family members. Students will learn how to interact with family businesses. |

The family business management course analyzes the complex relationship between the owning family and the business. Many worldwide economies rely on family businesses, e.g. Germany, Japan, USA, etc. Every family firm should be analyzed according to three pillars: family, management practices and ownership structures. The course also discusses family cases. |

Pełny opis: |
The course discusses specifics of family businesses and their role in the economy. It presents the typology of the family and its impact on the firm. In addition, it shows a methodology for analyzing family businesses. Family businesses need a sound financing thus patient capital will be introduced and other sources of financing adequate for these firms. Finally, some cases will be discussed during classes, e.g. Roleski with the first family constitution in Poland. |
