Wiedza: 1. Define the domain of simulation methods application. 2. Propose the right set of statistical and information technology tools for solving a decision problem. Define the process of simulation modelling. Compare decision variants on the basis of simulation outcomes. Evaluate the risk of implementation of the recommended decision. Umiejętności: Choose the best suited mathematical model for a decision problem. Build a spreadsheet simulation model. Simulate and analyse decision situations under risk. Effectively implement simulation model with an advanced spreadsheet functionality. Make conclusions and present them in precise reports. Recommend decisions and evaluate risks of various decision scenarios. Kompetencje społeczne: Analyse complex business situations, precisely and concisely formulate and document results. Build efective arguments with statistical methods and visual techniques (graphs, tables). |

1. Presentation of decision support techniques that use stochastic simulation. 2. Presentation of risk analysing methods in institutions and enterprises. 3. Presentation of advanced functions of MsExcel. 4. Learning how to mathematically model and solve decision problems. 5. Presentation of methods and tools allowing to solve decision problem with uncertainty and risk. The course covers application of stochastic simulation in solving managerial decision problems. Students acquire capability of mathematical expression and modelling decision problems. The classes are focused on case studies based on decision scenarios from enterprises and institutions. Students use advanced MsExcel's functions. As a homework, students are preparing reports after some classes. |
