Umiejętności: The student is able to pronounce English sentences more accurately and fluently (especially in terms of stress and the articulation of sounds, as well as through the application of linking and vowel reduction). The student is able to identify English vowels and consonants by listening to them and articulate them both in isolation and context. The student is able to identify sounds in words and phrases by mapping them with phonetic symbols and is able to read transcribed words and phrases. The student is able to assess the correctness of his/her own pronunciation more accurately and, if necessary, correct himself/herself. The student is able limit or avoid pronunciation errors caused by linguistic interference, and can explain the source of the problems. The student is able to better understand spoken British English thanks to the increased phonetic awareness. Kompetencje społeczne: The student is more confident when using spoken English both in professional and private life thanks to the newly acquired knowledge and skills, and is able to communicate more effectively with native speakers of English. By understanding the concept of linguistic interference, the student is able to show more consideration for native speakers of various languages who use English as a second language, and make errors resulting from their first language. |
