Theory of Econometrics

1. Extending of econometric modeling techniques introduced on the undergraduate level with the special regard to modeling by means of interrelated equations and layouts for correlation econometric models. 2. Reinforcing skills In deriving estimators and examining their features.

"Theory of econometrics" is theory-oriented with practical aspects; it focuses on theoretical issues that are connected with methods and results of estimation of parameters of multiple and simultaneous regression models and their verification.

Wiedza:

A student should:

1. Know the qualities of estimators and the results of assumptions put foreward.

2. Know various forms of econometric models and different layouts for their assumptions.

Umiejętności:

A student should be able to:

1. Derive an estimator for the accepted layout of linear model.

2. Evaluate the usefulness of the known methods of the given model evaluation.

3. Choose the method of evaluation and verify the estimation results.

4. Justify specification of the model.

5. Classify multiple equation model and choose the most suitable method of its estimation.

6. Propose changes in specification of the model in case of no possibility to identify its equations.

Kompetencje społeczne:

A student should also exhibit ability of:

1. Critical appraisal of econometric modeling results.

2. Fill in the gaps on the basis of theoretical econometric literature, and evaluate the reliability of empirical results on the basis of results of published research papers.
