Efekty uczenia się: |
Wiedza: The student has knowledge of the features, functions, and theory of design and understands its relationship with the economy and management. The student has knowledge of the barriers and factors of design development and its importance in building the competitive advantages of companies, cities, and traditional and creative sectors. The student has knowledge of organizations, institutions, and tools related to the implementation and reception of design. Umiejętności: The student is able to distinguish the economic, sociological, psychological, ergonomic, marketing, and legal aspects of design. The student is able to critically evaluate the role of design in economic and social processes, especially important for the competitive advantage of enterprises. The student is able to identify and analyze the main stages, factors, and barriers in the design management process and public policy instruments in the field of design. Kompetencje społeczne: The student is competent to work both independently and in a team. The student is prepared to participate in discussions on design-related topics actively and to present critical opinions. |

In the first half of the semester, students acquire basic knowledge of design and prepare case studies of designers and design offices that have created well-known items, services, or spaces. In the second half of the semester, students acquire the knowledge and skills needed for independent analysis of barriers and factors of the development and design management in enterprises, cities, as well as traditional and creative sectors. |

1. Presentation of the basic concepts and theories about design and its history in the world and Poland. 2. Discussion of the role of design in the modern economy, its importance for the development of enterprises, cities, and the increase in competitiveness in traditional and creative sectors. 3. Indicating the relationship of design with art, industry, and the market. 4. Drawing students' attention to ergonomic, psychological, and marketing aspects of design. 5. Preparing students for design management in enterprises and cooperation with designers and participants in design activities. 6. Indication of selected tools of public management and public policy in supporting the design development by the state and business environment institutions. 7. Providing knowledge about new trends in design and its relations with management in the digital economy 4.0, new technologies, and sustainable development. |
