Efekty uczenia się: |
Wiedza: 1. Students get acquainted with the main philosophical concepts, standpoints and streams in the history of philosophy. 2.Students acquire discernment in the field of the most important research methods and arguments applied in philosophy. 3. Students gain insight into ethical problems and the ability to recognize morally important aspects of different cases. 4. Students develop awareness of the relations between different fields of knowledge and also between theoretical knowledge and practice.. Umiejętności: 1. Students are prepared to apply basic philosophical concepts, are able to evaluate the correctness of arguments and to use arguments 2. Students develop their ethical insights 3. Students are able to search for further information on presented issues, and to refer critically to the sources of information. 4.Students are prepared to participate in discussions in both creative and disciplined way. Kompetencje społeczne: 1. Students are able to formulate justified judgments concerning important social, scientific and ethical matters, which enables them to reach the rational attitude towards them. 2. Students are provided with intellectual tools useful in critical analysis and evaluation of social processes. 3 Students are able to offer a constructive interpretation of the views of others, without thereby losing critical distance; they maintain objectivity in their judgments; the attitude of respect for different points of view is supplemented by the ability to set the limits of possible consensus. 4. Students are aware of the fact that sometimes one must make a decision in situations involving conflicting values; they are able to weigh properly the conflicting reasons and understand the responsibility of the person making an autonomous decision. |

The course covers the history of philosophy from antiquity to modern times, and systematically extends from the problems of ontology and epistemology over the questions of practical philosophy: ethics, social and political philosophy. |

Discussing the main philosophical concepts, problems and controversies which have shaped the history of Western intellectual culture and the contemporary world perspective. Promoting the ability to understand texts, to evaluate and formulate arguments, to recognize the relations between different fields of knowledge and between theory and practice. Providing the student with the epistemological tools for self-study and for the independent and responsible scientific work. |
