Wiedza: A student should be able to: 1. recall and understand major facts describing a stylized economy in a short, medium and long run. 2. understand macroeconomic models at the intermediate level; 3. recall and understand major macroeconomic events and regularities with regard to the Polish, European and world economy within the latest decades, Umiejętności: A student should to : 1. employ the acquired knowledge of the mechanisms lying beyond the economy in a macro perspective to explain the observed regularities; 2. carry out an individual analysis and description of the fundamental macroeconomic issues based upon tools and macroeconomic models introduced within the course at the intermediate level. 3. deliver and justify opinions on the economic issues based upon knowledge of empirical and theoretical regularities of modern macroeconomics and to critically analyse media publications on macroeconomic issues Kompetencje społeczne: A student should to: 1. master the macroeconomic knowledge sufficient to continue more advanced studies. 2. make objective judgements on variuos macroeconomic policies and decisions and to competently explain their outcomes to less educated fellow-citizens. |

The course in macroeconomics encompasses issues relevant to intermediate level. It is aimed to familiarize students with the definitions and concepts of macroeconomic analysis. It is also to facilitate understanding and describing major process typical of the economy in a macro perspective, their interactions and mechanisms beyond them in the short and long run. Hence the course should constitute a starting point for a wide range of advanced courses. |
