Introduction to the course. Definition of international business transaction. Types of international business transactions.Intra-Community transactions.

International sales growth; international trade milestones; international trade drivers; international business environment.

Methods of restricting international trade. Legal aspects of international business transactions. Tariff and non-tariff barriers. Community Customs Code.

International trade transactions cycle. Ways of concluding agreements/entering into an agreement. Modern management supporting systems vs. ways of getting in touch with foreign business partners. Tender (offer) and order.

Concluding international transactions on formal markets; types of markets; formal and non formal markets; auctions. Concluding international transactions on commodity exchanges.

International contracts; international sales contracts; agency versus distribution legal issues.

International transportation: ocen transportation; air transportation; land and multi modal transportation; packaging for export.

Terms of trade (Incoterms); understanding incoterms; Electronic Data Interchange.

Incoterms cont. Principles of applying International Commercial Terms Incoterms. Common errors in Incoterms usage.

Risk in international trade. International Insurance; Pitfalls of International Insurance; Perils of the Sea; Perils Associated with Air Shipments and other modes of transportation.
